Smooth Key Scroll is a Chrome extension that provides smooth scrolling with your keyboard.
Smooth scrolling has been a setting in most browser for a while but scrolling with the directional arrows has always been choppy. What Smooth Key Scroll does is overrides your keyboard's repeat rate.
There aren't many options in Smooth Key Scroll but the ones they provide are very useful. You can assign keys to slow down or speed up scrolling so you essential have 3 speeds. You can use the sliders to choose how fast you want each of these settings to scroll.
There is also GPU acceleration available, which makes rendering of the page much quicker. Smooth Key Scroll also uses GPU vertical sync to prevent tearing of pages while scrolling. This means web pages look, act, and feel completely natural. If there's something to complain about it's that the extension takes a second to load on a page. If you scroll before then, the page will be jittery.
Still, Smooth Key Scroll provides a simple tweak for keyboard users to get smooth scrolling on web pages.
